My morning begin as I walk in the door,

Greeted by Azik who cheekily winked,

As I walk passed the hall.

Shikin and Yanti were already at their desk,

Even Balqis was sitting quietly at her corner,

I tiptoed silently as I hold my breath.

Jenli came in and bursted out complaining,

“Walao this Ah Tan!”

“Always send me the sky and the emoji raining!”

I walked to the pantry and I saw Mr.Wei,

Who was my first interviewer,

Who talks more than me weh!

Suddenly there was a ring on my phone,

I knew it was Hebe,

From that sound of her tone.

“Steffi! myTREATS campaign already done?”

“We need to rush by this week…”

“…Before the big boss Beatrice come!”

“Yes! Yes!” I said. “The visuals are almost done! Including the T&C!”

“Amble, have you done the visuals?”

And she look at me, “Already send to your email! You check and see!”

With no time to lose, I ran over to Hanisah,

“Have you created all the codes?!” I ask,

“Sorry, got one promo code need help from Sanjaya.”

It's been a long time since I last wrote a poem. So, this poem is dedicated to the horrible experience I had to go through just to treat a simple fever. The first 2 days I visited Mediviron at One City. The reason I chose that clinic is because it's the only clinic that is nearest to my office.

Both days, the doctor (same doctor) reported no fever during the measurement. The first day I could accept the reason, but the 2nd day with no fever? That's too ridiculous.

Once I left the clinic on the 2nd day, I realized that the doctor had only relied on a single instrument (infrared thermometer) to measure my fever but nothing else besides that. I was thinking whether the instrument was faulty. Which came to my conclusion, the next time a doctor (or any doctor) treats a patient and still indicates the same result twice, please request another kind of procedure or method to double check the validity of the sickness. This is an advise I would like to give to all my readers out there.

One day, I rang the bell to the doctors door,

But it seems the doctor wasn't pleased to see me at all,

Doctor, I said, I'm not feeling well today,

I have headache, fever, and body aches all day.

Alright, said the Doctor, let me check and see,

The Doctor took an infrared thermometer and pointed at me,

No fever, she said, your signs are stable,

But come back again if you're not feeling normal.

I took the medications and paid the bill,

Sped home like lightning so I have more time to chill,

Checked my temperature with my home thermometer,

My fever became worse and not any better.

The second day, I rang the bell to the doctors door,

It was the same doctor as it was before,

Doctor, I said, I'm still not feeling well today,

I was shivering, vomiting, and coughing all day.

The Doctor used her device to check my temperature again,

There's no fever, she said, it must be a virus she explain,

It's been 24 hours since your last visit to the doctor,

A blood test is needed as soon as possible.

Doctor that's totally impossible I said,

I still have fever even with the medicines I took as obeyed,

Look, she said, you're well and I'm not sure what you're up to,

Maybe you just wanted an MC to escape the Monday blues.

Frustrated, I left without saying a word,

She thinks I'm lying that's so freaking absurb!

I went back as usual to check my temperature,

Reading was high and fever still not cured.

The third day, I rang the bell to the doctors door,

This time I made sure it was a Sunway's medical doctor,

Your fever is confirmed, the doctor said,

I'll take a sample of your blood so turn your head. (because I was scared of needle pain)

Few minutes later, the results came out,

Negative dengue, I was so happy and proud,

Fever was due to bacteria infection, he said,

So I have to take antibiotics for 5 days straight.

Finally, alas, I could finally rest in ease,

More rest, more sleeps, as much as I please,

So, the next time I visit a doctor with a fever,

I made sure I bring my own thermometer.

Once upon a time,
On a dark and stormy night,
A dust ridden paper came to light.
After much scutiny and a hiar tearing frenzy,
"Aha! I know what that is! I know! I know!"
She knew ?
"It's a map of the island Basillus!"
Big deal.
"It's also a treasure map!"
Ah! That caught our attention.
And so our adventure began...

We proudly present...
The Lost City Of Macumazahn

Seven hours and fifteen days had passed,
Since we started our historical search,
Which seemed an impossible task,
When suddenly, we heard a shout

"Land! Land! I see land!"

"I see Macumazahn just ahead! Very near!"

Happy as we were,
There was no time to celebrate,
As we ventured forth to Macumazahn
"Which was very near!"

So, we
Slashed through jungles,
Trudged through swamps,
Up hills, down ravines,
Crossed rivers...

"Hold it!"
What ?!
"I'm lost"
We quickly took care of that,
We left her behind
(*sinister laugh)

In no time, we had arrived,
And to our great surprised,
The city was made of pure gold!
As far as we could see,
There was no way in but one,
So, in the true spirit of gold,
We each grabbed a vine and
"Oh...ee...oh...eoh..."
Over the wall we went,
In the middle of the city did we land.

It's road entwined like golden serpents,
And towers of gold soar above us,
Glittening in the noon day sun.

Everything was gold!
Gold, gold, GOLD!

Staring around,
We were amazed, astonised, greedy!
Thirty four pairs of hands reaced out,
Grabbing everything in sight.

"Oh my! Rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds!"

"It's mine, mine, all mine!"

Then,
"Help! Sombody help!"
What was that?
"Could it be our lost friend?"
We raced towards her cry for help,
Turning a corner,
We saw her,
Surrounded by thirty five tribal warriors,
"Oong-ga-ga,oong-ga-ga oong!"
With muscular bodies and hair of gold,
(Girls)*sigh What a sight to behold
But to our great horror,
We also realised was to be sacrificed!
To the God of Immortal Ugliness!
(throw up)

"We have to save her!"
Do we have to?
"But first we must distract them"
How?
"Use me! Use me!"
That will never do.
"Maybe we could ask nicely"
So, without much ado,
We cried in unison,
Release her! Release her! Pretty please...

The warriors turned around,
Looking angry, flexing muscles, waving spears,
They were coming after us!
Hesitating no longer,
We grabbed our friend,
And ran into the maze of twisty narrow streets.
"Oh no! Dead end!"

We were cornered, trapped!
There was no where to hide!
The warriors slowly advance upon us.
Step by step, closer and closer.

The ground rumbled and shook,
Bricks of gold came crashing down
ARGH!!! EARTHQUAKE!!!
Right before out very eyes,
The ground was now a gaping hole.
Why us!!!

There was nothing we could do,
But run for our lives,
And in the process, we lost it all,
The riches, the man...(Girls)*sigh

At a safe distance,
Off the island, on our ship, the Blue Litmus,
We watched,
As the golden city sank into the bowels of the earth,
To be lost forever, leaving behind only a cloud of dust.

There was nothing left for us,
But sweet memories,
Of the search that begun,
Once upon a time,
On a dark and stormy night...
