The Lost City Of Macumazahn

This is the script that we memorise for the Choral Speaking Competition & Hari Anugerah :

Once upon a time,
On a dark and stormy night,
A dust ridden paper came to light.
After much scutiny and a hiar tearing frenzy,
"Aha! I know what that is! I know! I know!"
She knew ?
"It's a map of the island Basillus!"
Big deal.
"It's also a treasure map!"
Ah! That caught our attention.
And so our adventure began...

We proudly present...
The Lost City Of Macumazahn

Seven hours and fifteen days had passed,
Since we started our historical search,
Which seemed an impossible task,
When suddenly, we heard a shout

"Land! Land! I see land!"

"I see Macumazahn just ahead! Very near!"

Happy as we were,
There was no time to celebrate,
As we ventured forth to Macumazahn
"Which was very near!"

So, we
Slashed through jungles,
Trudged through swamps,
Up hills, down ravines,
Crossed rivers...

"Hold it!"
What ?!
"I'm lost"
We quickly took care of that,
We left her behind
(*sinister laugh)

In no time, we had arrived,
And to our great surprised,
The city was made of pure gold!
As far as we could see,
There was no way in but one,
So, in the true spirit of gold,
We each grabbed a vine and
"Oh...ee...oh...eoh..."
Over the wall we went,
In the middle of the city did we land.

It's road entwined like golden serpents,
And towers of gold soar above us,
Glittening in the noon day sun.

Everything was gold!
Gold, gold, GOLD!

Staring around,
We were amazed, astonised, greedy!
Thirty four pairs of hands reaced out,
Grabbing everything in sight.

"Oh my! Rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds!"

"It's mine, mine, all mine!"

Then,
"Help! Sombody help!"
What was that?
"Could it be our lost friend?"
We raced towards her cry for help,
Turning a corner,
We saw her,
Surrounded by thirty five tribal warriors,
"Oong-ga-ga,oong-ga-ga oong!"
With muscular bodies and hair of gold,
(Girls)*sigh What a sight to behold
But to our great horror,
We also realised was to be sacrificed!
To the God of Immortal Ugliness!
(throw up)

"We have to save her!"
Do we have to?
"But first we must distract them"
How?
"Use me! Use me!"
That will never do.
"Maybe we could ask nicely"
So, without much ado,
We cried in unison,
Release her! Release her! Pretty please...

The warriors turned around,
Looking angry, flexing muscles, waving spears,
They were coming after us!
Hesitating no longer,
We grabbed our friend,
And ran into the maze of twisty narrow streets.
"Oh no! Dead end!"

We were cornered, trapped!
There was no where to hide!
The warriors slowly advance upon us.
Step by step, closer and closer.

The ground rumbled and shook,
Bricks of gold came crashing down
ARGH!!! EARTHQUAKE!!!
Right before out very eyes,
The ground was now a gaping hole.
Why us!!!

There was nothing we could do,
But run for our lives,
And in the process, we lost it all,
The riches, the man...(Girls)*sigh

At a safe distance,
Off the island, on our ship, the Blue Litmus,
We watched,
As the golden city sank into the bowels of the earth,
To be lost forever, leaving behind only a cloud of dust.

There was nothing left for us,
But sweet memories,
Of the search that begun,
Once upon a time,
On a dark and stormy night...
