Bruce Lee, My Brother Review

By steambunz - Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Bruce Lee, My Brother shows part of an untold story of Bruce Lee's life and his family. It is a biography movie about his life, family, friends and his first crush.

Though it is not as good as IpMan1/2, this movie mainly focuses about his life and not much of his action stunts. Nevertheless, the movie may be abit slow moving and draggy, but the movie is quite well-made, it brings you back into those olden days.

What I like about this movie is because of the background setups during the scenes. It is really well set up in each and every scene during the movie, and it brings back nostalgic memories of how the Chinese live during the past.

The next thing that I like about this movie is of the strong characters acting in the movie. Starring Aarif Rahman as Bruce Lee and Tony Leung Kar-Fai as Bruce Lee's father(picture below: left).

I should say that Aarif did a great job on his role. Though not 100% look-a-like or the exact same Bruce Lee, but I'd say, he looks more like Wang Lee Hom. lol.

Tony did a great job on his part as Bruce Lee's father. But, honestly, after watching that movie, I didn't like his father. lol...
The producers really did a good job at matching up the characters with the actors. Though not exactly the same, but it was worth the try.

The action scenes was just average, though not as good as IpMan1/2. There was quite alot of shaking and moving around, which confuses the audience. But, I know, they are doing it to make the fight look INTENSE.

Overall, a-must-see for Bruce Lee fans, though I am one of them. Though worth watching. 3.5 stars out of 5!!

All types of knowledge, ultimately leads to self knowledge. Bruce Lee.
