D2YC Camp [Part 2]

HEY!! WATCH CHUAH SIEW LIN DANCING!!! LOL!!!

I'm too lazy to blog everything about it, plus, I'm sure you won't be reading much about it. Argh!! But, it was ok-ok larh. Ahaha...A lot of things had change since the last camp I went, 2006. Some people who was once a D2Y '06 participant, has now become a committee. The camp is held in the temple, Buddhist Maha Vihara.

And, did you know, there were only 61 participants in the camp, and only 3 of them are at the legal age?! And I am one of them!! 3/4 of the participants are ranging from Form1-Form3!! OMG man, I feel so dam old. 3/4 of them are mostly girls.

The games were quite okay. Competitive and creative.
Since after all, it's a Buddhist camp, so there were talks and workshops to attend to.
Food is served 4 times a day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. All vegetarian.
Sleeping time is precisely 11pm everyday and we had to wake up 6am for Puja(prayer). We slept on sleeping mats on the cement floor.

What I enjoy about the camp is that I'm able to express myself freely. I've learn how to manage my anger and not hate, being mindful about everything, and learn how to forgive & forget. Plus, my acting skills has improve. Ahaha...

One of the worst thing about the camp, is that we(girls) had to fight for the toilet cubicles. As you know, there are only 5 cubicles and 40++ girls. And our bathing time is only 1hour and 30minutes. If every girl were to bath 10minutes each, only 30 girls are able to finish bathing. And, when I say fight, they are practically running after for their toilet cubicles.

And the best thing was, when I was the first girl to reach my dorm and the toilet was empty, I ran, yes ran, out from my dorm screaming,"THE TOILET IS MINE!!! ALL MINE!!!" as I ran towards the shining toilet cubicles.
So, yes, I don't have to queue up for hours just to take my shower. Joy oh joy was I at that time.

My group, Khanti (which means patience, tolerance, forgiveness, endurance), is the most quiet group among all other groups. The silence practically kills my patience and it almost drove me insane, seriously. But, despite our quietness trademark, we got 2nd place at the end of the camp. Maybe for us, our actions speaks more louder than our words.
I was the oldest among all of my members. Sad, right? But they say I look younger then my age. LOL. It was music to my ears man. Ahaha...

Me?

As you know, I'm known for my quiet character. Yeah, it's pretty true. I don't talk much. I'm never much of a talkative person. Even with my best friends, I'm usually the quiet one. I don't talk much, but I'm good at listening and breaking cold, lame and funny jokes. I basically just talk to anyone random, when only I feel like talking.

During one of the Talent Time sketch practice, I was given the role to act as a girly high school student. Basically, when we(my group) starting practicing, everyone was filled with awe as they saw me do my part.

"She's a good actor."
"She's very good!!"
"She's good! She's very good!"

It was my first time when I heard those phrases. lol. serious. ahaha...

On the night of the sketch, when we took the centre stage. Some of my friends were extounded when they saw me act. Ahaha... I'm not saying this with pride and ego. I'm just saying that, I'm glad that my friends and the audience had a great time, laughing. Ahaha...

I would have hope to have won the 'best actor/actress' award. But, sadly, they don't have that kind of award. Ahaha...

So in conclusion, don't look down on quiet people. :D
