So I was Googling to find out the top words which are trending lately, and after going through some articles, guess which tops at the list?

You guess it. The word : NAKED

The word "naked" appeared in the Top 4 list right after "exonerate", "ruthful", and "self-made". (Dictionary, 2019)

At first, my first assumption for "naked" to be at the top 10, was because the younger generation may be curious to know what naked bodies look like (lol... how naive and innocent can that be?), but on the other hand, why wasn't "sex", "porn", or any other sexual common words not part of the list?

Of course, my assumption was clearly wrong.

The spike of the search for "naked" rose up to 1,159% in March because of the TV show series called, Naked & Afraid.

What the hell is Naked and Afraid?
It's an American TV Show hosted by Discovery Channel that challenges two strangers-- 1 man, 1 woman to survive at the wilderness without, you guessed it, clothes. They have to fight for survival from hunting for food, sourcing for water and battling against the cold, all these with minimal amount of man-made equipment and technology, for twenty-one(21) days.

Here's a sneak peek on them sharing their awkwardness being naked around each other.

My next question is...
Why would people be interested to watch these kinds of "sampat" TV Series?

When I first Googled about these findings, I was slightly taken aback.
Why got such stupid, and weird television series one geh? I thought to myself.
Got people watch these kinds of entertainment?

The answer is, yes (not surprisingly).
Even the ratings soared as high as 90% on Google.
Info extracted from Google, August 2019

So, why would people want to watch these?
I can only give a few assumptions :

Curious to know how these people survive those caveman days.
Unless you're God, no one had actually known exactly how did our ancestors survive in the wilderness. We have writers, evolutionist, scientists, and all those experts that talks about how humans evolve over the years, and how they survive through the caveman generations. But there's not much (or even any) that show-cast the real talent of how our ancestors actually survived in the wild, with barely anything.

Of course, the strangers in the show are not some Tom, Dick, and Harry. They are actual survival experts who have the experiences and skills to actually help them cope through the episodes.
Placing a modern, inexperience, pampered human being like me, wouldn't last me through even one episode. (Actually, that would make a pretty exciting show to watch how a noob person like me can survive in the jungle, but I think no one would recognize me at the end of the 21 episode).

I'm just here for the naked man/lady.
Yes, of course. That's the whole point of the show.
Because who would want to watched a fully clothed strangers trying to survive in the wilderness? Must as well just watched the good old American TV Show series, Survival, minus the man-made games.
Notice how they had strategically placed a man and women in most episodes?
It created a balance of interest for both gender viewers, so that, you know, if you're a girl and you're only interested in the naked guy. Vice versa. That explains everything, doesn't it?

They do have episodes where they have two guys working together in some episodes, but nonetheless, there's no sexual scenes whatsoever, so it's practically safe to watch.
Just refrain from watching it at your office unless you don't mind your colleagues to judge you.

Of course, with this in mind, these series are after-all, for entertainment purposes only.
It may have been fully scripted, pre-prep, and they may have even eaten before the show (lol, just imagine that). Maybe they even have pre-planned by planting a fish or animal to be at an isolated pond, just so that we can watch how two men dramatically catches an eel (like the video below).

Unfortunately, the body parts are already censored if you're watching from YouTube.
I'm not sure if it's fully un-censored via Iflix but if you're looking for a tweak from the daily Korean dramas, give this TV series a try.
