To a close friend who's sick with chicken pox!! Get well soon yah!! :D
I'm saying this so that Song Ian can stop bullying me and continue bullying you instead. LOL.
Here's a video for you that reminded me of you.
Yes, you and the darn airplanes!!
This is duely for entertainment purposes. Please do not take it seriously.
This post may be real or fake. But, those who understands me in real life, knows what's going on with my love life.
Enjoy!! :D
I would like to wish all my friends, family, and to all blog readers with a abundance full of prosperity and health!! Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year with full of love and happiness!!
However though, let us not think that CNY is all about collecting Ang Paus, buying/wearing new clothes, eating to our heart's content, etc.
CNY has more meaning than just those activities.
Let us not think about the amount of Ang Paus you recieve this year, but the people who gave them to you. |
It is a time where people get together once in a year, to celebrate.
Take the time to cherish those that is around you.
Maybe, that could be the last time you'll ever see them again.
Anyway, 'Life Against Stories' wishes you, 新年快乐!!!
Here's a video I wanted to share. It's a very old video that I remembered watching it because my mom loves watching it too. Enjoy!
Ginkgo. Try cooking them and they'll teach you a lesson or two.
Isn't it funny that some food can teach you a life lesson? Well, with Ginkgo, I'm sure it does.
Ginkgo. |
***
Ginkgo nuts. Though, smelly from the outside and bitter from the inside, it provides nutritious vitamins which helps improves memories. So, Gwen, you know what to do larh :P
The only possible way to open them is by cracking them open. However, if crack too hard, it'll spoil the texture of the seed. The texture of the seed is kept intact, so that the nutrients from the seed would not leak out.
If cracking the nut shell is not a problem, try peeling off the layer of skin.
Peeling the skin is the trickiest part. If you're not patient enough, your Ginkgo will end up like this.
A perfect Ginkgo looks like this.
And once you're done peeling, the Ginkgos are ready to be cook!!

Put your patience to the test with Ginkgo!! XD
I recieved this short story through an e-mail from a close friend of mine. I'm not sure whether you have read it before, but just something that I would like to share. Enjoy!
A jobless man applied for the position as an "office boy" at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.
"You are employed," he said. "Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start."
The man replied,"But I don't have a computer, and neither an email."
"I'm sorry," said the HR manager. "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job."
The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60.
The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.
5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him for his email.
The man replied,"I don't have an email."
The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!"
The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

First, was an insult to his own country. Next, was an insult to his own parents? Isn't that a little too much?
As common as it seems, most teenagers will mostly complain about their parents and the country that they live in. It happened once to me before, but I never went to the EXTREME of insulting about my own country and my parents.
Teenagers should appreciate what they have now, don't you think so?
They've got a school they can attend to.
A home to come back home to.
A computer they can use to.
What more you want to ask?

Malaysia Suck?
Considering the fact, that you insult your own country. If you don't like Malaysia, there's always other countries which you can transfer to. However, even if you did transfer, do you think your parents could afford to pay your living expenses? Isn't it good enough when the Government had already provided you with a almost-free education and free books to study?
I assure you. Malaysia is a beautiful place. Minus the rubbish on the roadsides/beaches, lousy public transports and rosak telephone booths, it still is a beautiful place. Considering yourself lucky to be alive in KL, other locations like Kuantan or Indonesia had suffered from flash floods, tsunamis and even earthquake.
Plus, insulting your own country, only gets you into trouble. Go on insulting your country in public. I would be the happiest person in the world to see you get thrown in jail!
Though I have to agree that other countries are way better then Malaysia. However, Malaysia has many talented people. It's just that there are barriers and policies which block these talented people from exceeding their goals. Adding on, is the lack of resources provided to them in order to help them succeed.
Malaysia has many political problems which some teenagers, do not understand. Malaysia is a great place. It's just that the people who is running it, is making the country worst.
So, you see, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Your Parents Suck?
I always tell this to most of my friends,"You will learn to love your parents when you grow older soon."
It is true and it'll forever will.
No matter how much your parents scold you, ignore you, force you or even punish you. Deep inside their hearts, I'm sure they had love you. Why wouldn't they? If they hadn't had love you, you wouldn't have been reading this. You would have been long gone since then.
They make sure they provide you with education, clothes, food, shelter, transport, pocket money and entertainments(e.g: computer).
Let me assure you, working is not easy. It is continuation of the same routine, same process(depending on thier job larh) every single day of their lifes for 6days in a week for 365days. Though sometimes your parents can't afford to give you everything that you want, but bare in mind that they have to pay for your electricity bills, phone bills, internet bills and so on.
Many teenagers complain that their parents do not understand their feelings. They do not understand you, this is because you do not understand them. Instead of thinking about yourself all the time, why don't imagine what it is like to be in their shoes? Start talking to your parents about your feelings and problems. It's your choice whether you want to make it right.

Situation 2:
In college, I'm very much sure that college students do nothing more than just attending classes, studying, handing up assignments on time, making sure that they get good grades or not to fail their exams, and yada yada yada....
However, there is one thing that I really cannot stand about in college. College student habits.
If there's one thing I dislike about them, it's the students disgusting habits.
The disgusting habits that I would probably say that, is the lack of thoughtful and mindfulness when it comes to placing their belongings everywhere. Some of them are careful of where they place their belongings, butsome people MOST PEOPLE, do not even bother to even look before placing their stuffs.
Okay, okay. So, maybe you think it's not a big deal to you larh. But, LET ME TELL YOU LARH. It bloody is!
People use books to study and read. Maybe it sounds ridiculous to some of you, but, shouldn't we take care of our books and our belongings as well?
Don't you think it's bloody disgusting to place our books and bags on dirty tables? If the tables are dirty, make it do with the chairs larh! If your books and bags are dirty, other things will be dirty as well. The stain on your books make your other papers sticky or dirty. And the bag that you're carrying will dirty your shirts or blouse. Don't you people ever think?!
Other then taking care of our belongings, we should also think where we're placing our stuffs. We should be more cautious and careful of placing our things.
Me and a few of my friends headed towards the Cafeteria after our classes. We found a table and we settle down our bags, files and books. Some of my friends, not bothering to even LOOK at the table, slams their books and bags down on the table and walk off to buy their food.
Looking at the table, there were bread crumbs, sticky food stains, and sauces on the table.

Situation 2:
I was waiting at the Cafeteria one morning. I wanted to take out my books to read, but having to see that the table was dirty, so I decided to just wait a little while, since my class was going to start soon anyway. A friend happen to see me and came towards me. She was about to put down her books on the table, but I manage to stop her in time and told her about the dirty table.
She went like, "Oh. Okay."
And then she reads her book on her lap. A few minutes later, she SLAMS her books on the table and continues reading her book, forgotten about the dirty table. Putting the books on the table is enough dirty already, but she stills continues to shift the books from one corner to the other without noticing that she's causing the books to be more dirtier.~ ~ ~

By the time I got down from the bus, it had stopped raining. And, just there and then, I just received the news that a schoolmate of mine had just passed away due to cancer.
My heart skipped a beat. There were a million questions running in my head.
She was like every other average girl in school. She was nice, and she had this sweet smile on her face every time.
I have always seen her in school with her friends, but I'd never talk to her much before. Just a hi-bye friend.
And, there and then. BAM! Reality hits you in the face, and she's gone.
It's funny how we never realize the people that we always see in school, until we realize that their gone. I guess, I never appreciated the people around me enough. And, there I was, complaining about the messy schedule, the bus, the rain, and the traffic jam.
For this, I should say, to all my friends. Stop complaining about your life and how bad it is. Start living now, and appreciate the people around you. Just someday, one day, they'll be gone.
Rest In Piece my friend, Low Hui Yee.

Don't laugh. This is my first time doing my resolution. In fact, I should encourage you all to do so too.
Why? People should change for the better and not for the worst. It could be your bad habits, your regular diet, yada yada yada.
So, here are my list of things that I wanna change. Whether to achieve them is up to me. It'll be better if I do, if not, this resolution list is useless.
1. Exercise once a week.
People say that we should exercise thrice a week. I couldn't even make it to 3 times a week. So, I decided to go with 1 time per week.
2. Voice out whatever I'm thinking.
Stop being pushed around all the time! Stop being a follower and start following myself!
3. Eat more fruits!!!
I have a very bad habit of not eating fruits. Not even 1 fruit a day.
4. Learn to drive an Auto car.
Must drive, drive, DRIVE!!
5. Spend more time with family and friends.
6. Write more short stories.
So many ideas, but so lazy to write them.
7. Do 10sit ups, and 30 push ups everyday!!
For better health purposes and a better figure XD
8. Get a part time job, as soon after I graduate from FIA.
I have to start earning money for my daily food usage and for my Degree course. I ain't no kid anymore. No more asking parents for pocket money.
9. Go to church.
For your information, I'm not a Christian. It wouldn't hurt to visit once a while, right? :(
10. Attend D2YC 2011 Camp!!!
I'm not really sure about the age limit thing for the camp, but I'll definately go if I have the chance to.
11. Volunteer for Wesak community service.
12. Dye my hair.
13. Stop being lazy!!
16. Dating?
So, these are my resolutions. I hope I can accomplish them.
The last 3 numbers are not necessary to come true. So, what's yours?
