Apologies Of The Heart

It isn't my fault. I didn't want to follow her...if it wasn't for her forcing me to go out I would be hanging out with my friends by now. Nancy thought to herself looking out of the car window.

Nancy and her mom sat in the car, as they both sat side by side silently while her mom was driving to the nearby restaurant.

The quarreling got heated up as both mother & daughter quarreled till no end.

The car turned into a corner and was parked right opposite a busy restaurant filled with people. Hawkers shouting here and there ordering food. The car engine suddenly goes dead as Nancy's mom got down from the car. Slamming the door furiously due to the fight in the car earlier.

Nancy got down from the car, as she straightened her crumpled dress. Nancy's mom locked the door and walked off to the crowded restaurant without looking back at her daughter who was taking her own sweet time walking behind her.

"I told you I'm suppose to go out with my friends...I don't want to have lunch & I'm not hungry,"Nancy said aloud.

"Can't we just the both of us spend some quality time together just for once? When was the last time we ever spend some time together??" Her voice started to raised a bit.

Silents fills the awkward situation.

"It's jut a simple lunch together...can't we even have that just for 1 day? Instead spending time with your friends whom you can see everyday," She broke the silence.

"They are not just friends..."

"Then who am I to you? Am I not important to even my own daughter,"She cut in.

"Arrghh!! You're so annoying....,"Nancy shouted filled with anger.

Arghh!!! Get that image out of my head already!!! I don't wanna think about it!!! Nancy struggled with the words that her mom said earlier.

Both of them entered the crowded restaurant and was lucky to have 2 seats left at a corner of the room.

Nancy didn't want to ordered, as she said earlier she wasn't hungry. Nancy's mom went to picked some delicacy of food on the big table. Nancy felt her stomach grumbled.

Oh no....Nancy thought.

Something make her mouth watered when she saw...her favourite graved chicken...

Nancy' mom came back with her very little selections of food, "Zhap Choi", curry chicken and Tofu. She was saving her money for the best she could give to her daughter, as she know she was hungry.
Nancy watched her mom eat the food on her plate. For the first time, she ever felt so pitiful for her mom. Nancy continued watching her mother eating, each time she felt like eating the table and guilty for what she said earlier.

Nancy's mom got up and went to pick up more food. Nancy felt curious at her act. Her rice wasn't finish yet, was she that hungry.

Or maybe...she could be pregnant!!! Nancy thought to herself.

A few minutes later, Nancy's mom came back with a plate filled with food. This time, it was a better selection then from her's, as she placed the plate of food in front of Nancy.

Nancy was caught back surprise. But she didn't look up and ate her food silently without uttering a word. She noticed her mom got her her favourite graved chicken. She felt like she was about to kill herself for what she treated her mom. She didn't care about her mom feelings but yet she still cares for her.

Her heart felt touched as she ate her food filled with guilt and sadness. Nancy took a glimpse at her mom continuing eating her food and she looked at her food. She shoved a big piece of her favourite graved chicken into her spoon and put in onto her mom's plate and went back eating her food. She felt ashamed but yet happy at the same time.

Nancy's mom took a glimpse at her and the chicken on the plate and secretly smiled to herself.

'I'm sorry mom for what I did earlier. I never thought of your feelings. I'm so selfish. I promised to be a good daughter from now on. I love you mom and thanks for taking care of me.
With love, from your daughter.'

Have you ever think about your parents feelings? The way you talk to them. How you reply them when they make you angry. Have you raise you voice at them? How will you feel? How will you feel when your own child raise their voice at you? Hurtful?

Somehow, no matter how we've treat them. No matter what we said to them. They still care for us. No matter what the situation is, they will always be there for you. Good times or bad times.

But do you appreciate them? They won't be in this world very long and we should always love and cherish every moment with them. What they thought us from young to teenage life?

Don't hate your parents, be thankful because without them, you won't be reading this by now.
